Map abstract computation phases onto paper tape, reader, rule selector, punch, feed wheel, and state lamps.

We map the Read, Rule, Write, Move, and State seen in Concept onto paper tape, read head, rule selector, write punch, drive wheel, and state lamps. What we handle here is not the Bombe’s historical mechanism but an exploratory bridge for reading abstract operations. Read the part names as translation labels for not losing sight of where the payload goes, not as a faithful restoration.
The Turing machine as an abstract model and the real Bombe play different roles. For how to read the theoretical model, see Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy: Turing .
First, with Auto focus, watch which part gets highlighted as each phase advances. The left side of the mapping is Concept’s five phases; the right side is the exploratory part names.
The Mechanism Bridge is a mapping, not a restoration of the real thing. It prioritizes being able to read shortly which part an abstract phase hands to. Keep its role separate from the Bombe’s codebreaking mechanism.
